1st Annual Schafer/Van Zee Lake Getaway!

Lots of catching up here I know.... but here are some pics from our first Lake gathering with B's side of the fam. Kate loved the water! Wearing my shades, jumping off the boat and learning how to do a cannonball just to name a few highlights.
The trip involved eating, eating and more eating!!!

A trip to Minor Mikes one night was a hit! Here's B. and Kate on the choo choo train rollercoaster. Really fast, and Kate had a blast!

Poor Will wasn't big enough to go on the coaster. Thankfully there was this little choo choo train ride for him to rock back and forth on and feel like he was just as cool as the big kids.

Finally, we built up some courage and took all the kids to a restaurant the last night there. Always a challenge as my kiddos don't like to sit still very long. But we got through it with all smiles and no time outs. Maybe we're having a small breakthrough. I won't press my luck quite yet.
A great trip followed by another great time with my fam a week later. Those pics to follow shortly. Adios for now!

End of June in a nutshell

It's amazing how with the warm weather, I never seem to take the time to get on my blog anymore. Well, here's a quick run down of some of the highlights of June, to be followed by July and August soon ( I PROMISE!!!)
Will absolutely has made leaps and bounds with being comfortable in the water this summer. This pic of the goggles makes him look a bit nerdy, but I couldn't resist.
We went to Grandma Shaefer's at the end of the month to celebrate Aunt Jillian's homecoming from the Peace Corp. Can you believe now she's moved to NYC to attend Columbia to get her masters in public health. What a change in scenery and lifestyle. Go Jill!!!

Will really wants to go potty like his sister!! In this pic, he said he had to poo so I sprinted down to the basement to get the little potty only to arrive at the top of the stairs to find this. I felt so bad!! He really wanted to achieve this milestone and I wasn't quick enough!!

And finally we had a new addition to our extended family. My cousin Stephanie & her hubby had a little girl Sienna Ray! She is so adorable and my kiddos loved seeing a little baby. I have to say, I didn't get any baby fever when I visited the hospital, I kind of surprised myself and relieved Brett!
