Summer Trip to Arizona!

We decided to brave the heat in August and head down to Arizona for a week before school started back up.  The pool was calling Kate & Will's name as soon as we arrived!
You don't go to Phoenix without a stop at In and Out Burger to see what all the hype is about!
Top Golf was a ton of fun!  All of us could play and it was shaded with snacks and drinks.

Brett was the big winner each round of course.
Some Lego building with Uncle Josh.
And catching baby geico by the pool!
Kate and Will LOVE Dolphins, so we went signed them up for a private dolphin experience where they got to work 1 on 1 with the trainers and the dolphins.

They were in HEAVEN!!!
Back to the house and pool in the evenings for some evening swims....
And bubble baths before bed!
Uncle Josh loves Legos just as much as Will and Brett do, so we HAD to hit up Lego Land!

We found another aquarium!

Dad!  That's a BIG Shark!
Catching a quick nap on the car ride home.
Brett earned his keep and did a few handyman jobs while we were in Arizona.
And cooked up some yummy shish kabobs!
Oh how we love relaxing in the Sun!
Until Next Time!!

Lake of the Ozarks 2018

The Schaefer/Van Zee Lake Trip was a long weekend of sun and fun!  Lots of yummy drinks and pool time.

Canoeing in the Lake.....
Eating lots of yummy treats like Fruit by the Foot!
Floating and floating and floating......

And a little bit of fishing too!
Puppy Chow and Chex Mix are a must on the dock.
All of the kiddos were very patient and eventually caught a fish!

The kids were more wet than dry during the trip, but wouldn't have it any other way!

4th of July & Goodbye to the Penn St. House.

We traveled back to our hometown of Williamsburg to celebrate Independence Day with Nana & Papa.  The kids love all the fun activities on the square including the face painting.
This looks great but didn't last long.....Will has a hard time not touching his face :)
Pony Rides are always fun!

And chill time/nap time in the afternoon!
A trip to the Pizza Haus is always on the to do list when when we visit the Burg!
July 4th 2018 was our final celebration at my childhood home on Penn Street.  My parents sold the house and are building a new ranch style home just a few minutes away.  I was pretty emotional as this was the only home I lived in from birth until the day I got married.
My parents kept the painting the house that hung above the fireplace as memory of how the house looked when they originally bought it back in 1979.
The piano that I played from kindergarten through high school is getting loaded up and delivered to my house in Clive!   I can't wait!!
This picture shows the pane of glass that I broke when I was a toddler and was never fixed :)

My mom and I spent SO many mornings and late afternoons on the front porch discussing life.

Good bye to 706 Penn Street!   I hope the new family moving in will create as many wonderful memories as we did!
