Easter 2014

Easter Weekend is always so crazy!  The Xmas holiday gatherings always get spread out over several days. However, with Easter everything gets crammed into 1 weekend.  We had a total of 4 Easter gatherings this year.  I just picked a few snapshots to share so I wouldn't overload you.  We did a lot of egg decorating again this year.  Each year Kate and Will get more detailed with their decorating.  Kate took a really long time on each of her eggs to make them just right.

Will hit a milestone and was able to keep his attention to the task long enough to dye all 12 of his eggs this year!  He just plopped each of them into a different colored cup of dye, went and got a quick snack, then came back and fished them out, put them in their egg carton and said "I'm done!"    My children are SO opposite of each other in SO many ways!!

The egg hunts got pretty tricky this year.  A scavenger hunt at Nana and Papa's and a really tough hunt at Grandma's had the kids running around like crazy!

It took both Kate and Will quite awhile to find their eggs.

Papa had even attached an egg to a rope and lowered it underground for the kids to pull and find.

Lots of eggs = Lots of candy = SUGAR HIGH!

Great Grandpa and Grandma Von Ahsen  really enjoyed watching all the chaos.

Kate & Will got an extra treat this year because our cousin Sienna was able to join us for the fun.  Sienna and Will love to play together whenever they get the chance.   In the end it was a great time for everyone.

Kindergarten Round Up!!!

WOW,  once again, I have neglected to blog about our spring happenings.  So here I go!
Will had Kindergarten round up!!!  He was oh so excited with a few butterflies in his tummy too.  Our good friends Dave and Lori who live down the street have a daughter Jordyn who will be starting kindergarten at Clive as well this fall.  Lori and I were so glad the two kiddos could go together to the event.  That settled some nerves.

Will was doing great until the 3 kindergarten teachers began passing out name tags.  No big deal to me, but Will immediately noticed that the teacher who gave him his name tag was not the same teacher that gave Jordyn her name tag.  Therefore, he assumed that meant that they would not be together for the activities and a few tears began to flow. 

However, after a few reassuring words from Mom that they would not be separated he was all smiles once again.  He looks kind of funny in this picture, but he is turning to me to tell me goodbye as the teachers lead them to the classrooms. 
In the end, Will had a blast and did a great job.  He is very excited to be starting full day kindergarten this fall.
