October Birthdays!

Brett and I are only 2 days apart and it's always fun to celebrate together.  

We LOVE Starbucks coffee and usually only drink it on the weekends, and the cheaper coffee during the week.  Extra days of Starbucks is always a treat! 

And my friends at work spoiled me on my special day.  

And my dear friend Jamie knows my heart and got me this super cute coffee cup for my yummy coffee. 
 

Kate the Tour Guide

The Iowa Director of Education came to Kate's school to tour and learn about the Project Based Learning curriculum they use.  Kate was selected to be one of the student guides and really enjoyed the experience.  

 She was nervous at first until I told her that the Director was actually the dad of one of Will's soccer teammates that she knew.   That definitely helped settle her nerves for sure:)

Will's Birthday Bash

Will had a few friends over to celebrate his birthday.  The party involved a lot of nerf gun wars, a pinata and video games.

Will picked pizza for dinner and donuts for breakfast the following morning.  

Such a nice group of boys that had so much fun together.  

 And no one got taken out by the bat during the pinata game :)

Kate is 12!

Kate turned 12 the first week of school and was so excited for her bday! 

The junior high is only 2 blocks from our house.  Kate got a new bike with a rack to carry her trumpet to ride to school this year.  

She had a few friends over to celebrate with.  They tie dyed shirts on the driveway.

Giggled and laughed a lot!

And had a great time hitting the pinata!  Happy Bday Katers! 
 

Will is 10!

Will was pretty excited to turn 10....... 2 full hands high in the air! 

I took a birthday lunch to him at school on his special day.  He got to sit in the lounge and have his special lunch with his 2 best friends.

 And lots of new Legos to build with Dad.   Another great bday in the books!

Birthday Fun with Family!

Kate and Will selected a Fiesta Theme for their 2018 bday bash.  The Taco Pinata was chuck full of candy and ready to be broken into.

Will was so excited to be turning to double digits....... The Big 1-0! 

And Kate is 12! 

Great Grandma and Grandpa Von Ahsen were able to make the trip to Des Moines for the party this year.   They had not been to the house since we finished the addition and renovation, so Brett enjoyed showing them all the changes.  

Have 3 great grandparents at the party was pretty special.  

And Lindsay and Shane are always so helpful during the event. 

Nana and Papa gave Will the horse race toy that he always plays with when he visits their house.  The are getting ready to build a new house and wanted to make sure he got it.

Back to School 2018/19

Kate decided to ring in the 2018/19 School year with a cake to celebrate.  She baked it and decorated it herself.  New school.....new friends......definitely worth celebrating! 

It was kind of weird for Will to go to the bus stop for the first time without his sister with him.  He was a bit nervous, but excited to start 4th Grade.
