April Update!

We are Potty Trained!!! Yea for Will! I had it set in my mind that the boy would be much harder than the girl, but oh was I wrong! This little guy didn't get rolling with it as early as his big sis did, but once he became interested, he flew with it! At 2 1/2 he is about 90% potty trained! No more diapers in our house!!

I had some crazy medical stuff go on with my ears and eyes during April, hence the late posting. But the Lord was great to me and everything has checked out okay. During my down time, Brett was wonderful and took over a lot of the care and entertainment for the kiddos. One day, he and the kids got tattoo happy....Here are just a few of them.

This stinker thought she would wear this one to preschool all week. Well, she almost did as we couldn't get it off her head!!!

On another note, Kate had Kindergarten round up at Clive Elementary. She got to be a kindergartener for an hour 1 afternoon and boy was she excited to go!

She and her neighbor friend Parker went together on the big day. She did great until the Principal asked all the "kindergarteners" to line up. That's when the cold feet set in. So her Little brother thought he'd help her out and went and lined up and attempted to take her place! It was like pulling teeth getting him out of that line of kiddos! In the end, she had a great time making a craft, seeing the kindergarten rooms, and eating a little snack with her new friends!

Winter Half Birthday Party

A few weeks ago our good friends 2 boys had their bday party at a great hotel here in Des Moines. It just so happen to fall on the weekend of Kate and Will's "half birthdays" as well. Now we don't normally make a big deal over the 1/2 bday, but we were getting some major cabin fever, so we needed a good excuse to do a little partying at the hotel. The kids are so excited to be 4 1/2 and 2 1/2 now!

Will had his 2 1/2 year well check that week. Let's just say he's a little slow on the weight gaining. He weighs in at a grand 25 lbs. at 30 months of age! He has saved me some great cash though, as he is wearing all the 12 & 18 month winter clothes that he wore last year. Despite his small stature, he has figured out how to kick hard enough in his lifejacket to hold himself upright and swim by himself. YEA WILL! He loves swimming with his big sister. Kate continues to be a great fish in the water. We're trying to drop the lifejacket with her, which I think will happen very soon!

Kate Kodak took this shot. This was late into the evening.... trying to where out the kids for little sleeping in the next morning. Of course that was just a dream. They were up and ready to get in the pool again at 6:15am!

The next day the hotel put on some great free kids activities for the little ones. Spin Art was a ton of fun!

Finally, we ended the weekend with a little step back in time. I once told Kate how when I was little my mom would "wet braid" my hair at night, so it would be curly the next morning. Well, she had to give it a try. And here she is!! Kinda freaked Brett out at first. He's kind of a creature of habit, and this hair do wasn't what he anticipated to see bright and early Monday morning. She loved it!!
