Back to School 2015!

Kate started the big 4th Grade and Will was ecstatic about starting 1st Grade!  They were super ready to get back to school!

Kate would like to be an ELP teacher when she grows up. Will would like to be a Scientist.

Will and Pax were a little bummed they didn't get in the same class this year.  But they continue to ride the bus together and love running back and forth between their houses after school playing everything their little imaginations can think of.

Kate and Parker both got Mrs. Dolan this year.  Spencer is in a different class.  But..... same bus stop and lots of hanging out after school.

All the kids were excited to see Ms. Patty pull up to pick them up on the first day!

They Arrived....

They remembered to get off the bus......

And they made it to their classrooms!!!  Will was beyond pumped!

We were so happy to find out he would be in Mrs. Kautz's class.  She is an amazing teacher and will keep little Will having fun but working hard right  along with it.

And he got right to work.  Such a studious little boy ;)

And the annual pic of the neighborhood girls on the first day of school.

A Little Fun to End Summer 2015

Catching up again here....... Back up to Aug 2015.  We always try to squeeze in a long weekend mini vacation before the kids head back to school.  This year we headed to Nana and Papa's for a day of boating at the Coralville Res. Kate really worked hard to get up on the water skies this year.  She was really close a few times, but never quite got up all the way.  She gets closer every time she tries.  I think she may get next yr.

The kids love to bake.  We made a lot of cupcakes this summer. The are easy and just the right size for yummy snack.  They both are getting pretty good in the kitchen.

We went on quite a few bite rides.  This ride was at Saylorville Lake.  It was a beautiful ride, but a little long for the kiddos legs.   I think we ended up riding around 12 miles that day!

We had a little friendly gardening competition going on between Papa and the VanZee's. Papa sent us a pic of his huge basket of produce and we replied with the above pic of our produce.  He couldn't believe we could
A. Grow bananas in Clive, IA
B.  Grow banana's with stickers on them none the less!     We had a lot of chuckles back and forth!

We made a fun trip to Pella to celebrate Grandma Van Zee's Bday.  We love the parks in Pella and had a great day to enjoy the fun slides and swings and yummy bday cake and ice cream.

We made a fun day trip to Adventureland.  1 of the perks of Will's small stature is that he continues to easily ride in all the fun kiddie rides.  He absolutely LOVES them!

Brett and Kate hit the Raging River again and got SOAKED!  Will still isn't quite up for it yet.  So we watched from above instead.

And completed a few more rounds on the kiddie rides :)

Kate decided to join him a few times.

Everyone loves the Sky Ride.  Especially when it goes over the Log ride.

It was a super fun end to the Summer 2015!
