The BIG Garage Sale

Brett and I had our first Garage sale a few weeks ago. WOW!!! What a lot of work. We got a tip to hang everything up so people could go through it easier. Well......that meant 600, YES 600 hangers went up in my garage. That's a lot of kids clothes!!!
We sold all the baby supplies except for the Crib and changing table since my hubby made those with his furniture making talent. So whether my kids want to or not, they will be forced to use that crib and table with their children since THEIR FATHER MADE THEM!!

Obviously, this is the cue to all those who were wondering if Baby Number 3 would ever come. Well, not planning on it!! So a little shout out to Johnny and Josh... you better get moving on that!

Kate loved the people watching during the event. FYI it was also Clive Spring Clean up that weekend. Everyone's junk was on the curbs and many many different characters traveled to our neighborhood to treasure hunt. I think our 2 old mattresses lasted 1/2 an hour before they were snatched up. But hey, it brought the same crowd to my garage sale. Money's money, right?

And finally, this moment did bring a little tear to my eye. Will decided to take one more round in all the baby equipment. He sat in his bouncy seat on and off the first day until it was sold. Brett and my mom were great with running the sale while I took care of the kids. I preferred it that way so I wouldn't have to see all my baby equipment go.
All in all it was a great sale and we made some play money to have some fun with this summer!

What is Earth Day ?? (A little late)

This year we decided to teach the kids, mainly Kate, about Earth Day.
For Easter the kids got gardening equipment to complete the experience.
The gloves were a hit, and Target had fabulous little pots for us to fill.

I did forget one important part to the project.... the potting soil. So we had to do a little digging in our side yard to find some dirt to work with. The dirt we found wasn't so great, but Kate thought it was wonderful. That's all that matters, right?

So Kate filled her little pots and planted some seeds. Will had checked out by this point and was off yelling "Boo" at the dog next door through the fence. Attention span is still something we're working on.

Watering the plants to complete the project.
I thought it was a success in my book until my hubby came home and pointed out that I neglected to notice that the $1 bargain pots from Target didn't come with holes in the bottom for draining!! And of course, I would totally blow out Kate's candle if I emptied her masterpiece, drilled the holes, and started over. So...... we just left them. She continues to check her flooded pots almost daily for growth. I am praying that a miracle, even a little weed, will pull through to make this a success story. Please cross your fingers!!!
