Will's 1st Day of Preschool!

Finally Will's day has come to be in the school spotlight!  He has been waiting & waiting for his day to start preschool.  He was so excited when he woke up this morning.  When I asked him what he would like to be when he grows up, he didn't hesitate before yelling, "A Race Car Driver!"

Kate did a lot of pep talking before she boarded her own bus for school.
1.   Remember to wash your hands as soon as you get there.
2. If you have to go pee, tell the teacher and run to the bathroom so you don't have an accident.
3.  Don't hit and listen to your teacher.  (Will has been playing "fighting" during his playtime which has resulted in small injuries occasionally.)

After lunch,  his Children's Garden class was all hyped up & ready to load up!

Riding in the back of the van may be Will's favorite part of the whole preschool event.

Here we Go!!!  I think Will got a few butterflies right about this time as his pace really slowed down walking to the front door.

But as soon as we got inside, the feisty Will returned.  He was all about telling me & everyone else where things were and where we needed to stand and wait.

He is a wee bit too short to get that big backpack up onto his hook.

Putting his name tag on the board, just like the teacher asked him to. I asked him for a hug & kiss before I left.  He did just that and then said, "Bye Mom!", turned around and ran off with his friends.  What a big boy!

When I picked him up at the end of his day he said, "Mom, that was the best field trip ever!!"  I laughed to myself & explained that he actually gets to go back & do the same thing tomorrow.  He was so pumped to hear that.  I am still in shock that my "baby" is now a preschooler!  I held my emotions together, mostly because I can see how excited he is to move on to the next step in his development.  I think this little guy is going to have a great year!

Lindsay's 30th Birthday Bash

I'm a bit behind on posts, so catch up here I come!  A few weeks ago Brett & I got a night out to the piano bar for Lindsay's 30th bday.  We celebrated both of our bday's there and many of our friends, but it never seems to get old.  Each time we have a blast and leave with a whisper for a voice from singing our hearts out all night long!

Our table had the priviledge of winning 2 different singing/dancing contests that night. The prize was a HUGE blue fishbowl drink for the whole table to share (hence the rainbow of straws.)

Everyone tried the blue punch.  It was a little sweet for Gene!

One of the contests was a dancing contest. Brad was the contestant from our table.  He did so great that he won the audience's approval for another fishbowl to be delivered to our table.

Darcy & I tried to make a dent in the blue monster, but didn't get very far.

Despite Lindsay's objection, we finally got her up on stage so the piano players could sing her a special birthday song. Lots of laughs were had!

The next morning we all gathered at our house for a breakfast bday party for Teagan & Tate.  The kids were wild, the adults were oh so tired.

To back up a bit,  earlier in the day before Lindsay's party, Will got running way too fast and couldn't apply his brakes fast enough.  He took a huge tumble on the cement. His goose egg was huge, and he was bleeding on the face, elbow and knee.  He was pretty tough about it though.  I was the worried one checking his pupils and asking him to tell me his name and repeat 3 words back to me every hour or so before we left for the party. He checked out okay.

The best part of the weekend was that Aunt Jill was back in town.  The kids love hanging out with her whenever she's here. It's always a great treat!
