Happy Easter 2012

Easter 2012 is getting spread out over the month of April this year. We visited Grandma Van Zee in Pella 2 wks ago, and ventured to W'burg and Sully this past weekend. It was a lot of driving. Thank goodness for the DVD player in the van! I had to include a family shot because we actually all are matching this yr. Totally not planned. Brett had only 1 shirt that was ironed on Easter morning which happened to be yellow. Kate's outfit was a steal off the clearance at Von Maur, Will's was a steal at GAP, and well, I just pulled something springy out of my closet AND.....Voula! You would think this was a planned photo shoot! Bad smiles and all.
We decided to make an Easter tree out of an ornament tree that we put up at xmas. The 12 days of Christmas were replaced with 24 Eggs of Easter. A. It cost NOTHING! and B. It was actually pretty cute. The kids loved it.
Decorating the eggs. Wow, now you can add glitter, make a tye dye egg, do a spin art egg, it's getting quite out of control on what you can do with a hard boiled egg.
Will decorated each egg about 3-4 times. He just kept dropping them in different colors. The end result.... a lot of brownish, yellowish, greenish looking eggs.We got home late Sat. night, went to church Sunday and came home to discover the Easter Bunny had visited. Lots of clothes, toys, and a t-ball tee, balls, and gloves to prepare for the upcoming t-ball season.
Not a good pic of the kids, but I had to include one by our bird bath. This bird bath was my great grandma's. My grandparents had it in their backyard when I was growing up, and after they passed away I was the lucky one to get it. We love it and it's a great fit in our backyard.
Easter Sunday ended with an Easter egg hunt at Great Grandma Dieleman's house. Not many great grandkids showed up this year, so Kate and Will really hit the jackpot of candy. Will was so excited to fill up his bag. And he would have eaten the whole bag as well if I wouldn't have stopped him.
A picture with cousin Lauren. Kate is obviously really excited to be taking the picture. In 2 weeks we head back to W'burg to celebrate with Nana and Papa. They just got back from a long trip all over the country and to St. Martin. We can't wait to see them soon!
