Our elementary school had a fun event at Barnes and Noble. For the event, our art teacher selected a few pieces of student artwork to display in the coffee shop. Will was ecstatic when he found out his ice cream cone picture was selected!

Many of the teacher volunteered to come and read their favorite children's book to the kiddos that day.

SO MUCH FUN!

In other news, Kate started playing the trumpet this year. She really seems to enjoy band and has really learned a lot. In the spring, the 5th grade band has a tour day where they go to 3 different schools in the district and perform a concert for the students.

The best part is they get to go the mall for lunch with all their friends in the middle of the day. I was lucky enough to be a chaperone for the day. It was pretty cute seeing Kate and all their friends try to decide where they were going to eat at the food court, pay for their own meal and not drop their tray of food while they figure who they are going to sit with :)
